A fabulous sterling ring by mid-20th century jeweler James Parker; very substantial and completely hand-wrought; top is verdigris copper surrounded by sterling with faceted onyx and a pearl; ring is about size 9; top is approximately 7/8" diameter; ring is in very fine condition, is unsigned, but comes from the estate of the artist.

James Parker (1914-1987) is known for creating unique designs in jewelry that are a mixture of subtlety and boldness--linear elements almost always curve or circle around his forms creating a feeling of vitality.

In 1951, Parker was president of the Allied Craftsmen of San Diego.  He was invited to submit work for consideration in the Brussels World's Fair and was represented in "Craftsmen in a Changing World."  His work is in several museums within the United States.
