Sterling pin by German/American silversmith Petra Class with hammered gold surface; about 2-1/4" x 1-1/4" x 5/16" thick; marked "C" over "P" in a square and "925;" fine condition. German trained silversmith, Petra Class creates jewelry that is beautiful and wearable. He works in mostly in gold and silver. The themes of "rhythmical arrangements of several elements, repetition of similar forms or colors, (and) the unexpected contrasts of differently textured materials" are often repeated in his work. SYDNEY LYNCH STERLING, GOLD, AND PEARL PIN

A small masterpiece by Sydney Lynch; circular sterling silver pin with gold and pearls; center section sits up almost 1/4" above the base; pin is approximately 1/2" diameter; marked; "SYDNEY LYNCH, STERLING;" fine condition. Sydney Lynch grew up in rural Connecticut and moved west after working at a school on the Navajo Reservation. She completed her BFA in 1973 at the University of Colorado, then proceeded to design and make jewelry in her home studio, and successfully developed a following. Her jewelry combines bold, simple, sculptural shapes to create a dynamic of tension and balance. She uses textures and surface patterns for tactile and visual interest. Her personal interests are reflected in her work: the natural forms of rocks and seashells that she has collected since childhood, the intriguing shapes she finds in weathered areas of the city. JYTTE KLØVE REVERSIBLE STERLING AND GOLD RING

Ingenious and beautiful ring by Danish studio jeweler, Jytte Kløve; top flips back between patinated silver and gold wash; bezel-set faceted stone (possibly hematite); about size 8; semi-circle top is approximately 1-3/8" diameter, marked: "925S, KLØVE; fine condition. Jytte Kløve was born in 1949 and has been creating beautiful jewelry in her own studio since 1975. She studied at Denmark's Design Academy and worked for a time in the studio of Tage Selsøe-Larsen. Since 1976 she has exhibited her jewelry in major shows throughout the world. Her work is in the collections of many museums including the Arts & Crafts Museum in Copenhagen and the Danish Arts Foundation and she has won many significant awards and prizes for her her jewelry.
