B J O R N W E C K S T R O M Bjorn Weckstrom is an internationally recognized sculptor/jeweler. He won the Lunning Prize in 1968. His "sculptural cufflinks and rings play with volumes and surfaces, alternating the light reflections on shiny and matt silver." One of his space series pieces, a necklace titled "Planetary Valleys" was worn by Princess Leila in the 1977 "Star Wars" movie. Weckstrom's work has been featured in museum shows in many countries. An
elegant 18K gold ring by Bjorn Weckstrom; about size 12; marked with the
Lapponia stamp, "750, LAPPONIA, FINLAND, BJORN" and import marks that I
believe are for London; date marks are obscured, though I can see a "7";
surface is in fine condition; band is slightly out of round in the back
and the gold is slightly thinner there, perhaps it has been sized; an
overall beautiful ring!

Rare, early (1967) Bjorn
Weckstrom 14K gold pin with beautifully faceted smoky quartz; about 1-1/2" x
1-3/8"; marked with conjoined maker's mark that I have not seen
before--looks like "PWA" (perhaps this was a collaboration
between Weckstrom and his early partner Pekka Anttila); also marked "585"
(for 14K), Finnish crown stamp, Helsinki boat stamp, and "O7" (for 1967);
fine condition.
