Vintage, Hogan Bolas brass fish brooch and earrings wrapped with copper wire; a highly appealing, fun design! Brooch is about 2-1/4" x 3/4"; earrings have wires for pierced ears and are each about 1-1/2" long x 5/8" wide; each piece is marked: "HOGAN BOLAS;" all pieces are in fine condition. Hogan & Bolas has been making "Handcrafted" jewelry in Providence, Rhode Island for over forty years. Started by Robert Hogan and Elizabeth Bolas —Rhode Island School of Design students—the company produced jewelry designs in copper and bronze. The artists also experimented, successfully, with various enameling techniques. Pieces were produced using traditional metalworking, combining hand and machine work.
