Extraordinary bronze lion pendant (breastplate) by Pal Kepenyes; purchased directly from the artist in Acapulco in the 1960's; pendant has 58 individually attached bronze hammered bars creating the mane and lion face has resin eyes with red pupils; pendant is huge at approximately 7-1/4" x 6" and is attached to a handmade bronze hammered collar; collar is approximately 20" around; the whole piece is wonderfully detailed, wearable art; marked: "PAL KEPENYES, MEXICO;" one of the individually attached whiskers appears to be broken off, otherwise fine condition.
