Rare mid-20th century earrings by Julian Goodenow; spiral design; each approximately 1-1/8" diameter; screwbacks; each marked: "STERLING, Handmade by Julian Goodenow;" fine condition. I don't know much about Julian Goodenow except that he was a mid 20th century jeweler in Greenwich Village. Armand Winfield, who owned Winfield Fine Art in Jewelry in Greenwich Village in the late 1940s, mentions Goodenow in a paragraph on page 51 in my book "Modernist Jewelry, 1930-1960, the Wearable Art Movement" on page 51.
