Wonderful handmade abstract stoneware plate with "Picasso-like" design by Angelo Garzio; heavy stoneware with speckled brown/green glaze and raised scalloped border; approximately 12" x 9-1/2" x almost 1" high; signed on bottom: "Garzio;" fine condition.

Angelo Garzio is professor emeritus of ceramics at  Kansas State University.  He recieved an M.F.A. in 1954 and has taught in multiple university and crafts programs throughout the country and his work is widely exhibited and commands high prices in galleries and at auction.
