ARTS & CRAFTS STERLING BROOCH WITH CORAL BY JACOB A. JACOBS

A very special piece from the Amsterdam School by Jacob A. Jacobs (1885-1965), c. 1920s; sterling and coral shell and/or fish motif (depending on your interpretation); about 2-7/8' long x 7/8" wide; marked: "J*J" and another illegible mark; fine condition; has a C-catch.

This very same brooch is pictured in "Dutch Arts & Crafts Jewelry, The Amsterdam School" by Ginger Moro, MODERN SILVER magazine, April-May, 2004.

$295.00 (item #MA002) NEW!

ARTS & CRAFTS DESIGN BROOCH WITH TURQUOISE STONE

Well-made and quite detailed arts & crafts design brooch with turquoise stone (unsure of what it is--looks like a stone, but slightly iridescent); I am unsure of its vintage; about 1-1/2" x 1-1/2"; no marks; fine condition with lovely patina.

$105.00 (item #HPAC001) NEW!

ART NOUVEAU GOLD & KUNZITE RING

Gorgeous, 14K gold art nouveau ring with large, emerald cut, soft lavender Kunzite; everything about this ring is so pretty--the art nouveau setting holds the stone with curving leaves and branches; about size 6-1/2;  I'm not very good at estimating carat weight, but I believe the Kunzite is at least 6 carats; ring is in like-new condition--very fine and is marked: "14K, NW."

$1,100.00  (item #KNGA001)

RANDAHL HAND-WROUGHT STERLING LADLE

Beautiful, hand-wrought sterling small ladle by Randahl silversmiths, c. 1930s; very much a Georg Jensen-like design; about 6-1/2" long; marked: "RANDAHL, Hand Wrought, STERLING, 268;" some light surface wear and a couple of fine scratches in the bowl; otherwise fine condition.

Julius O. Randahl was a Swedish silversmith who came to the United States in 1901.  He worked for Tiffany, Gorham and the Kalo Shop in Chicago.  In 1911, he opened his own business, The Randahl Shop in Park Ridge, Illinois, but moved to Chicago around 1915.  He was forced to close during World War I, but reopened in 1919. He sold his silver through Marshall Field's and Peacock's in Chicago.  (from Encyclopedia of American Jewelry Maunfacturers by Dorothy Rainwater)

$235.00 (item #SMR001)

BLACK BAKELITE BIRD CARVING WITHIN A HANDMADE SILVER FRAME

A lovely, large brooch with what appears to be a carved, black Bakelite bird with flowers within a handmade silver frame with copper wash; brooch is about 2-1/2" x 2"; I am not certain of the silver content of the frame—the back appears to be a low-grade silver and the front (there are two layers) may be plated or the same silver with a copper wash; the whole thing has a lovely, antique look. Please see pictures.

STERLING BUTTON COMPANY ART NOUVEAU PENDANT BROOCH

See a wonderful photo of the Sterling Button Company building in New York City and read more information at http://www.14to42.net/30street3.2.html
