Beautiful black and white studio pot by DwaIn Narragon, c. 1995-96; exhibited at the Hammonds National Exhibit in 1998; porcelain with a soft black glaze, texture similar to soft leather; approximately 6-1/4" high x 7" diameter (at widest point); signed on bottom;  perfect condition.

Dwain Narragon is Associate Professor of Art Ceramics at Eastern Illinois University.  He has won numerous awards some of which are The First Annual Potters Guild Purchase Award, 1996; Meritorious Achievements Award, 1st Kyoto Craft Competition International, Kyoto,Japan, 1986; and the Merit Purchase Award, "Vessels Aesthetic 1983, Taft College, Taft, California, 1983.   He has participated in many international exhibitions and his work is in collections in New Zealand (Auckland Institute and Museum); The Kyoto Craft Center, Kyoto, Japan; Anchorage Historical and Fine Arts Museum, Anchorage, Alaska; Taft College, Taft, California; Muncie Art Association, Muncie Indiana; and The Rose Mall, Valley City, North Dakota.
