Unusual sterling silver ring by Lapponia, Finland  designed by Christophe Burger (see pg. 117 Collectible Silver Jewelry by Fred Razazadeh); abstract feather-like design lies diagonally across the index and little fingers; about size 7-1/2; top is approximately 1-1/2" long x 3/8" wide; marked: "925" (between scales), Finnish crown stamp, Lapponia stamp, "Q8' (for 1993); "LAPPONIA"; very light surface scratches on the band, otherwise excellent condition.

In an email from December 21, 2002, Christophe Burger talks about this ring: ".....referring to your presentation, in which I am proud to discover one of my models for LAPPONIA, I can assure you that item N S 146 is actually my own design. Good to realize that despite clear mention on the pieces, designer's style can be recognized. May I add that the materials include a piece of white mother-of-pearl and that this ring belongs (together with ear-pieces, pin, necklace...) to a line in which I experimented this kind of subtle "non-contrast" combination of mat silver and white mother-of-pearl..... CHR.BURGER / COLMAR / FRANCE."
