Aguilar X belt, c. 1940s; made famous by a photograph of Georgia O'Keefe
wearing an X belt by Aguilar that may have been a gift for her from Rosa
Covarrubias in 1951 (see Silver
Master's of Mexico, by Penny C. Morrill, pg. 108); suede belt is
about 33-1/4"
long x 1-1/2 wide; four handwrought sterling X sections are each
approximately 1-5/8" x 1-1/8"; great patina, no marks;
actual buckle is missing, but there are two sterling bars (loops) to
hold the belt; suede shows some age and wear, otherwise fine condition. $2,000.00 (item #MVX004) |
